Every deal site lies about the original price
Before you buy it, Gazoobie it.
Deal sites are mostly affiliate feeds with a countdown timer bolted on. This one scores offers for whether the discount is real, sorts them across twelve shopper personalities, and says in public how the checking is done.

What we were handed, and what we took on
The scope.
The interesting problem is honesty at volume: thousands of offers arriving daily from affiliate feeds, each needing a quality score before a person ever sees it. It runs the same content and email stack we build for clients, at a scale no single client would generate, which is how we find the failure modes before they reach a client account.

A scoring pass on every offer
Offers are scored before publication rather than passed through from the feed.
